Thoughtless

William - 22 - London - Music - Art

Someone recently asked me what my perfect girl was…

Ive been asked this a few times and without actually thinking about it, it seems like a fairly straight forward question to answer, as everyone knows what they like, right?

I know exactly what I like personalitywise..

I like a girl to be smart. I enjoy having (somewhat) intellectual conversations and not having to resort to just talking about things like music. The other day I had a full on, deep conversation with a girl about space and time, the journey to the end of the universe and about how dense the center of the ‘big bang’ was during the moment of creation. To some people it may seem ‘nerdy’ or whatever but I don’t know, I just find it attractive. Smart girls just make me… :3

I like a girl that has ambition. I like a girl to have an interest in something. I lived in a little town where so many girls (guys also) are completely content with having a child at 17 and living in the same tiny town that anyone who lives further than 25 miles away hasnt even heard of. I know all people are different and it is their choice what they do with their life but I just find a girl that has deep interests and a high drive to succeed so much more attractive. It may be music, drawing, writing, photography, sport, law…anything! Just something that they are working to and dream of becoming. It also spurs me on so much more to get to where I want to be when I am with a girl that can keep busy doing work. That was one good thing about my ex. We would sit there on our macs doing work for hours at a time, literally in silence…and that would be totally fine with both of us.

I’d like a ‘nice’ girl. You know one of those generally nice people…? You can’t really explain what it is about them but they are just nice. A combination of many different aspects of their personality that you maybe cannot distinguish individually but together bring about one of those genuinely awesome girls that are becoming ever so hard to find amongst the crap that’s floating out there. Needle in a haystack is a perfect description.

I like girls who make an effort with my friends and a girl that will introduce me to hers and not think twice about mentioning she actually has a boyfriend. Girls who take an interest in my interests. Girls who will ask me what ive been doing in uni and how things are going. Girls who are generally interested in more than their own lives.

When it comes to looks, I have always thought I knew what I liked. With the scene I am in…Stretched ears, tattoos, certain dress style, massive music interest have always attracted me…however the past couple of people I have been with and the current person I am highly attracted to doesn’t fit the above. They do/she does however match up to what I want personality-wise.

Don’t get me wrong, looks are important and those that tell you otherwise are lying. You don’t approach a girl you do not know in the slightest because you are attracted to her personality…simply because you don’t know her personality! Looks are important, initially, but will only get you so far.

I remember I once went out with an absolute babe. Everyone fancied her. Literally. Everyone thought she was a babe…however, so did she. It’s OK to like certain things about yourself and feel attractive when you are having a good day or whatever but she thought she was the dogs bollocks. Couldn’t deal with it and had to finish with her.

This question is hard to answer. I know what I like when it comes around…

Bleugh. I don’t know.

This guy is literally my favourite artist at the moment. He has so much talent I just want to die.

22/03/11

This was a good day.

My tattooist booked me in on a cancellation he had received and after laying in a comatose state brought about by the previous nights escapades, I managed to crawl out from my pit any get to the tattoo shop before 3pm.

I get tattooed at World of Tattoos in Ruislip, North West London. Antony Flemming is my tattooist. Check him out yeah? HERE

After bleeding like a…well…something that bleeds a lot, I jumped on the tube to meet a rather awesome person :) After arriving in style (obviously late) I saved the day by bailing her out re. money problems. S’all good. With her feeling a bit silly after her bank messing her around I thought I would put a smile back on her face doing what I do (second) best…Consuming alcohol.

We went to a pub off Oxford Street and we had a fair few doubles with numerous amounts of Mcoy’s crisps. aha.

Ever met someone you can talk crap to, not worrying about saying anything out of place and generally have a 5 hour conversation with…Yeh, that’s pretty much her. Such an awesome girl…and smart too. :3

I bought a Mcdonalds that day which wasn’t good, however :(

Over and out. x

Welcome

Welcome to my blog.

This blog will be where I talk about the goings on and general thoughts and feelings of my less-than entertaining, everyday life.

I figure I should start with a post about me, right?

I’m a 22 year old, male living in London Town. I have many interests but my passion and heart can be found in the creative arts. I see something that looks or sounds good and I NEED to know how to create something with similar aesthetic or emotional qualities. This trait has lead me to run my own freelance graphic design company by the name of, ‘Blueprint The Sky’. You may see some of my work dotted around…

My interest in the arts has lead me to start my own clothing company called Friend ‘n Foe Apparel and probably my biggest achievement…Attending The University of Westminster where I currently study Commercial Music. I am in my third year and have recently completed my dissertation. I feel it went well. Here is an extract:

‘Pretty much all species of animals are conscious of what happens around them. Acknowledging what our peers and others are doing and how they act is the way that we learn to become the type of person we end becoming, which in it’s self is changing all the time. A similar view is shared by John Gloag in his 1959 publication of ‘Advertising in Modern Life, in which he writes, ‘Nearly every day, from early childhood even before they can read, men and women, in the English-speaking democracies are exposed to various forms of persuasion.’(Gloag J. 1959).

From the clothes we wear on our bodies and the shoes we wear on our feet, to the restaurants we eat in and the car we drive in order to get there will all have been a result of advertising in some way, shape or form. This may have come from a billboard or television advert or it may have simply come as a recommendation from a friend. Either way a conscious effort to leave a product or service imprint in your mind has taken place. Owen Gibson’s 2005 online article published on The Guardian’s website titled ‘Shopper’s Eye View That Pass Us By’ states that ‘In one 45-minute journey, the average London commuter is exposed to more than 130 adverts, featuring more than 80 different products. Only half of that information makes any impact, while unprompted we can remember none of the blur of adverts. In an entire day, we’re likely to see 3,500 marketing messages.’ (Gibson O. 2005) Why do only half of these adverts make an impact whatsoever? Is it a general poor advert, bad fonts, displeasing colours, etc? Or is it simple because we are only taken in by the advert that mean something to you as it features something you can relate to or recognise, like a face for example?’

- Me - Try not to steal it.

I digress…

As I said before I have also successfully started up my own apparel company, check it out :) Friend ‘n Foe Apparel.

I have a lot of things going on in my head at the moment so expect this to be updated as often as I can bring myself to type without being distracted.
